I made this card to use as a family Christmas card to send overseas and also because the image "Aussie Outback Shack" drawn by Zoe at Make It Crafty is awesome and I have been wanting to colour it ever since I purchased it from her store. It took about 3 hours to colour as I am new to copic colouring and I wanted to get it almost right. The next one I colour will be a little darker on the shack. I am entering this in the Make it crafty Technique Challenge - their first ever challenge called "Make a scene". It was coloured with Copic Ciao pens , not sure which ones I used as I have put them all away now, will have to start writing them down as I use them.Why don't you check out the challenge they have good resources available to help you with your colouring and scene making

ReplyDeleteSince you are going to be making a bunch of these for chrissy cards I have an idea for you to try rather than colouring int he sky for all of your cards and using up all your ink.
If you go back to the challenge page and check out Carisa's example, you'll see she simply outline the horizon with the blue marker. You could do this all away around the trees and house etc. Make it a little thicker and then bring in your blender to soften the edges of the first layer. Then come in with the same blue again and go just close to the edge (the black lines) creating just a bit of a darker gradient around the skyline. I think you will find this comes up a treat without having to buy a bunch of refill ink for chrissy cards. :)
